This is how a painting can create itself. I did not have enough of the blue colour to fill the whole background, so I decided to divide it roughly over the canvas. I would drip allover anyway, so no one would notice. When I finished the first layer of black paint and came back after a few hours, the artwork had created itself. The black lines became barbed wire for me, the blue and grey background represented the uniforms prisoners wore in the concentration camps… this was representative of Auschwitz. I am sure not all of you will see the same, but I could not touch the end result anymore, albeit to respect the courageous prisoners who suffered in those horrible places.
Size is 60cm x 120cm, boat paint on canvas, with heavy black wooden frame.
