“Number 4” (2023)

Number 4 is a unique combination of a dripping artwork with a full tilting artwork on top of it. As the red dripping lines had become too overwhelming, I decided to use the same colours in a tilting variant, starting with the creamy colour from the right, followed by the black from the left, while the creamy paint was not completely dry. This resulted in the effect as seen on the right, where black and cream become one. The red center I made to create just that: a center to the new artwork. It turned out quite well, a definite eye-catcher.

Size is 140cm x 200cm, boat paint on canvas, without frame.
